Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksDepressed describes buddy icons expressing low mood through heavy wording, lowered posture, or visual signs of fatigue and sadness. A head resting on a hand, tear marks, and sparse compositions usually signal the same emotional register more clearly than bright color.
