Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksWhite Text marks icons where white lettering is the primary readable message color against darker, textured, or multicolor areas. This trait includes short phrases, names, and captions that remain legible at tiny sizes because the white glyphs are contrasted clearly.
