Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksWhite Object identifies icons where a clearly light-toned item appears as a distinct element, often held by a figure or set beside the subject as a separate prop. Even amid bright hair, armor, or text, a small white marker, object core, or highlight can still define the category by standing out from surrounding pixels.
