Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksText Fragments describe buddy icons where words appear as broken pieces, partial captions, or isolated blocks of letters rather than full uninterrupted phrases. The visible text often sits next to symbols or inside simple geometric panels, so each fragment acts as a cue in very small compositions.
