Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksText Changes marks animated icons where wording updates from frame to frame while the base composition often stays stable. Heart motifs, names, or character cutouts are reused while text cycles through short phrases, creating a readable message sequence.
