Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksText Bar describes icons where a text strip or text-heavy panel is a structural anchor of the composition. In buddy icons this shows as captions placed at edge or bottom bands, such as short titles or phrases paired with small art motifs.
