Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksTeal Background identifies a dominant teal field used as the base color behind each subject. Stars, windows, swirls, or character cutouts may be layered on that base, with the hue itself acting as the first read of the image.
