Read the short historyRecovered from the early web
Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksStands identifies upright, poised figures that appear planted and balanced, as if set to hold a pose for a quick read at icon size. Look for a centered stance, grounded feet, and props such as circular platforms or nearby objects that visually stabilize the body.
