Read the short historyRecovered from the early web
Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksSnowboarding identifies compact winter-action icons of riders on boards, usually with bright jackets, snow banks, or airborne silhouettes against blue or white backgrounds. The stance, board angle, and short labels help tell a snowboard jump from nearby winter-themed icons when the scene is reduced to a single tile.
