Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksSmileys are compact expressive faces built from enlarged eyes, thick outlines, and clear mouth shapes that work at icon size. Many versions add hearts, flames, or caption text, so tiny expression shifts become the focus of each frame.
