Read the short historyRecovered from the early web
Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksSmall White Object points to buddy icons where a tiny white item is visually important amid larger shapes or characters. The item can be decorative or held, and is identified by its light color contrast rather than size dominance.
