Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksSimple buddy icons favor concise iconography with few parts, basic outlines, and obvious shapes over dense detail or shading. Faces, hearts, quotes, and repeated glyphs stay legible by reducing texture and keeping form, color, and line work spare.
