Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksShield denotes icon compositions shaped like emblems, badges, or crest-like shields, often with centered figures, stars, swords, animals, or short labels. Symmetry and border structure are the best cues to use at small scale because the shield shape usually defines the reading path.
