Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksRetro Internet Graphics are buddy icons made from chunky pixel text and small icon symbols, built like late chat-era status badges. Look for pink-to-blue gradients, short phrase repeats, and tiny hearts or stars arranged with tight spacing so they stay readable when tiny.
