Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksRepetitive Layout is a compositional pattern that duplicates names, words, or symbols in multiple matching positions. In buddy icons this often reads as tiled text rows, mirrored blocks, or repeated names and motifs with small star or border accents.
