Read the short historyRecovered from the early web
Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksRed Square refers to buddy icons featuring a red square or square frame as a core shape element. The square may contain hearts, text, or character snippets and often works like a badge shape for quick composition clarity.
