Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksPride in buddy icons is a flag-like and text-forward labeling style tied to pride statements, where rainbow bands, affirming words, and celebratory marks do most of the identification work. At small size, a border stripe, starburst accent, and clear phrase text are often the strongest clues.
