Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksPixel Art means buddy icons are built from visible square pixels with deliberate blocky transitions and minimal smoothing at icon scale. A useful signal is clear sprite-like figures, repeated pixel patterns, and compact shapes like notes, clouds, or faces rendered as discrete blocks.
