Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksPersonalized buddy icons embed custom identity details such as names, dates, or direct declarations as the central visual element. The message is often framed by hearts, duplicate name blocks, or personal date stamps, making the individual reference the key detail.
