Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksPerson is for icons where one human-like subject is the main focus, from close-up portraits to waist-up and full-body poses. Hair style, expression, and nearby short labels are usually the clearest recognition clues at small scale.
