Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksPerson Face buddy icons put a visible human face at the center of attention, even when there are multiple text blocks nearby. Fine features like eyes, hair shape, and skin tone in the portrait crop remain the fastest way to identify what is represented.
