Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksPaper centers on document-like imagery: sheets, letters, notes, folds, and envelopes represented as small pixel elements. Key details are lined or textured page surfaces, pen marks, and transitions between note, blank paper, and mailed-message states that keep the communication motif obvious.
