Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksPalm Trees are buddy icons where a palm trunk and fronds, or a palm-framed coast scene, define the subject at a glance. They commonly sit with sunset tones, shoreline colors, and short text, where one stylized frond can be enough to identify them.
