Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksOutstretched Arms identifies buddy icons where both arms are visibly extended from the torso, creating a wide or open silhouette. The gesture can read as welcoming, praising, or energetic, and it often appears with simple text cues nearby.
