Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksMetallic describes buddy icons rendered with reflective silver, gold, or bronze effects on letters, symbols, and objects. Look for faux-shiny gradients, specular highlights, and 3D-like rotational cues that suggest polished metal on small sprites.
