Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksMale Figure means a single male-presenting person or character is the focal subject of the buddy icon, usually shown in a portrait or action pose. Pay attention to hairstyle, clothing, body build, and gesture, which often communicate gender expression at small scale.
