Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksLight Orange identifies buddy icons where a muted amber palette anchors the composition, from light-orange fields to pink-orange transitions with star motifs and text. A small visual cue is warm pixel stars, striped bands, or subtle highlights changing beside captions, which stay legible at tiny scale.
