Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksLetter A is a text-based icon where the capital A glyph is the primary form, shown in flat, metallic, or animated pixel treatments. In buddy icon samples, surrounding shape blocks, borders, and color accents help frame the letter, and some versions rotate or shift it slightly for variation.
