Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksKitten shows a cat-like subject as the center of the icon, with soft muzzle, whiskers, and kitten ears or paws in compact buddy icon style. Use fur-tone contrasts, eye direction, and tiny paw poses—especially raised limbs or lying poses—to tell kitten variants apart quickly.
