Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksHand Drawn Style describes icons with a casual sketchy look: uneven line edges, doodled heart marks, and freehand-like rhythm in strokes or lettering. The slight irregularity can be seen in text outlines and tiny marks, giving each icon an intentionally crafted feel.
