Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksGrayish Brown describes buddy icons where subjects or tones sit in muted gray-brown palettes, often with dry, dusty color balance. The examples apply this subdued spectrum to faces, fur, stems, and backgrounds so contrast is gentle rather than vivid.
