Read the short historyRecovered from the early web
Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksFortune Cookie is used for icons built around a fortune-cookie form or fortune-style message layout. The most visible clues are folded-cookie imagery and short text blocks, often split into bordered sections with playful wording.
