Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksFair Skin Tone identifies icons where the depicted human skin is rendered in lighter tones relative to other skin or nearby colors in the same image. This usually shows through portraits, close headshots, and expression-focused crops where face shape and subtle contrast carry the identification.
