Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksEmotions are buddy icons where feeling is the readable core, shown through faces, expression changes, or direct emotional wording. Smileys, mouth shifts, and tiny feeling text such as love or envy are common, making the mood explicit at very small resolution.
