Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksEarly 2000s Digital Graphics are pixel-heavy buddy icons with simplified character blocks, hard edges, and overlaid short text phrases. Pose variants and repeated icon strips appear often, with captions acting as a visible visual layer beside the main pixel figure.
