Read the short historyRecovered from the early web
Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksDotted Border is a border treatment made from separate dot clusters or speckled outlines around an image area. In buddy icons it often runs like a perforated edge around text-heavy graphics, separating the content from plain space without a heavy frame.
