Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksDolphin labels buddy icons featuring dolphins or related marine mammal imagery, usually shown as side-profile or arcing silhouettes. Leaping motion, wave lines, splashes, and ocean backgrounds are common visual cues, with captions often adding playful tone.
