Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksDithered Pixels refers to pixel graphics that soften transitions with visible alternating color points instead of smooth gradients. The sample works show smiley faces, character bodies, food, and text using speckled stepped tones, so edges read as textured blocks.
