Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksDirect gathers direct text-label graphics where the wording is the core graphic rather than a depicted scene. Repetitions of the same phrase, heavy block backgrounds, and symbols replacing letters are common visual markers across many variants.
