Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksDigital here refers to visual traits linked to screen-like, pixel-structured rendering and text-heavy icon construction. In buddy icons it appears as blocky fonts, scan-line bars, textured pixels, and repeated glyph-like motifs with a clearly synthetic feel.
