Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksDigital Retro is the text-first buddy icon style built from blocky pixel typography and compact message-like composition. Look for mirrored or split layouts, hearts replacing letters, and dark checkered or starry fields to anchor the retro signal.
