Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksDigital Art buddy icons are illustrated compositions made of crafted graphic elements, showing staged characters, layered backgrounds, and decorative shapes rather than raw photos or plain templates. They may still use pixel-like detail, but the emphasis is on an intentionally designed miniature scene or character artwork.
