Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksDeep Red identifies imagery where deep crimson and blood-red areas are central to the color mood. In buddy icons, the tag is often signaled by dark red backgrounds, matching letterforms, and saturated accents that stay distinct from pink and bright red.
