Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksDark Sunglasses marks faces hidden or contrasted by dark lens shading, with a stylized band-and-glass shape over the eyes. The eye area is simplified in buddy icons, so the eyewear creates a quick identity cue even when facial detail is tiny.
