Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksDark Brown/Black describes buddy icons where deep brown or near-black tones are central in clothing, hair, silhouettes, or shading. Sample images often use those dark masses against greener, yellow, or light backgrounds to keep contrast and identity in compact scenes.
