Read the short historyRecovered from the early web
Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksCreature icons show a small fantastical being as the subject, with odd anatomy, unusual limbs, and expressive faces rendered in compact pixel buddy icon scale. Spot a tiny mouth shape, unusual eye color, and odd appendages to separate one creature icon from another at a glance.
