Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksClownfish points to icons with the striped orange clownfish shape or very close cartoon marine stand-ins as the focal subject. The horizontal stripe pattern, rounded fins, and blue-water settings are the clearest way to identify this motif in small buddy icons.
