Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksBlocky Letters refers to heavy, square-stroked typography with thick edges and compact shapes that stay legible when small. These examples use bold words and symbols arranged as strong, readable blocks, letting letterform carry the visual structure of the icon.
