Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksBlocky Font buddy icons use square, thick glyph construction where letters read like modular tiles more than smooth type. The style is easiest to identify in repeated words or phrases, especially when the same text appears on multiple backgrounds with color shifts.
