Buddy icons survive in old directories, fan sites, downloadable packs, and web archives. The archive preserves the original files, groups known copies, and records where each one was found.
How the archive worksBars identifies buddy icons where horizontal or vertical bars are key compositional elements, often mixed with repeated text blocks. Bar marks may function as music rhythms, simple gauges, or graphic accents alongside short phrases or symbols.
